Seems to be down?

The bot hasn't made any edits in a little while. I think it may be down. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:13, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

@Good Olfactory: Indeed it was. Thanks for letting me know. FYI, Fayenatic london — JJMC89 02:04, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

botIII - Fair use images of movie posters

FYI there's >3000 images that have failed to move from Category:Fair use images of movie posters since they're being put there via a template. Le Deluge (talk) 20:36, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Stop spamming i n Madagascar Category !

Hell, stop stamming in Madagascar categories. Move log b 07:53 JJMC89 bot III talk contribs moved page Category:Roads in Itasy to Category:Roads in Itasy Reigon without leaving a redirect ‎(Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Speedy)

This are "nonsense"" edits. You also do not say: Category:Rivers of Lower Saxony region (nor roads) but Category:Rivers of Lower Saxony Nor Categories: State highways in Alabama state but Categories: State highways in Alabama.

This is an unnecessary supplement. Please revert 'all Otherwise rename also all the categories of roads of Americas and Europe ! And better stay off, if you do not know anything about Madagascar. Keep in your bussiness.

And please also notice that region doesn't spell Reigon . I'm so tired (talk) 13:32, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

You'll need to discuss the issue with which ever admin listed the move at WP:CFD/W. (Check the history.) — JJMC89 02:08, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

No move of categories needed!

Hi, I have seen the bot has made a lot of category moves with the Basque Country, like this which needs very close attention to its contents, since some belong in the "greater territory", i.e. the homeland of the Basques, and some in the autonomous community, i.e. the Spanish administration unit. Although some may be right at the moment, for the most part it is a mess that I will need to check again. Please do not implement more moves. Thanks Iñaki LL (talk) 07:54, 4 June 2021 (UTC)

Dear, May I know why are you erasing logo of Akalis and aap? what is wrong with it? Alluburam (talk) 05:08, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Quick q (question)

Are you a staff here? Should you get permission from me to edit my page? EverestMachine 4001 (talk) 23:05, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

(talk page watcher). Hi EverestMachine 4001. JJMC89 is a Wikipedia administrator. There are no "staff" when it comes to Wikipedia since all editors are WP:VOLUNTEERs, but administrators have been tasked by the Wikipedia community to try and ensure that all Wikipedia pages are in accordance with its various policies and guidelines. The file you added to your user page was removed because it's non-free content and non-free content is not allowed to be used (i.e. displayed) on user pages per non-free content use criterion #9 as explained here. Just for reference, you're user page is technically not yours per se as explained here; rather, it's more like something you're borrowing free of charge from Wikipedia. Like any Wikipedia page, a user page can be pretty much edited by anyone at anytime even without your permission; however, in most cases, other editors will avoid doing so unless they're asked to do so or there's some kind of policy or guideline violation that needs addressing. The latter is why JJMC89 bot removed a file from your user page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:48, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Please explain why you want to delete this file and how can we keep it on Wikipedia? Sokuya (talk) 21:59, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

(talk page watcher)@Sokuya: Generally, a non-free logo such as File:Eurovision Song Contest 2019.svg would be OK to use for primary identification purposes at the top of or n the main infobox of a stand-alone Wikipedia article about the event it represents; so, the logo is probably OK to use for that purpose in Eurovision Song Contest 2019. However, the logos use in Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 almost certainly would not be considered to satisfy Wikipedia's non-free content use policy, and it was because the file is being used in this article that JJMC89 most likely tagged the file with {{di-disputed fair use rationale}}. Perhaps he will reconsider the tag now that you have changed the non-free use rationale for the file to reflect it's use in the main article about 2019 song contest. Regardless, the file's use in article about Israel's participation in the 2019 contest is now missing a rationale and thus can be removed at any time per WP:NFCCE; so, if you feel the file's use in the Israel article somehow satisfies relevant Wikipedia policy, then please provide the missing rationale. Based on my experience with non-free files, I don't think there's a way for this file to be used in that article according to Wikipedia policy, but you're free to and explain why it's OK to use by providing the required rationale. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:00, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
OK @Marchjuly:, I removed the picture from Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. I hope the file could remain in Eurovision Song Contest 2019 infobox instead of being removed. Anything else I should do? Sokuya (talk) 10:30, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm SamStrongTalks. I noticed that you recently removed content from 1989 Tiananmen Square protests without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. SamStrongTalks (talk) 19:46, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Bah, sorry. Didn't check on your page before hitting the revert and warn functions. I would love to know why you removed it though. SamStrongTalks (talk) 19:48, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Confusion

Hello

I noticed that File:Flag of Southfield.svg was removed from Flags of cities of the United States, and the description i made was undone. May i ask why? as far as i know, you can use copyrighted files on multiple articles IF you list said articles in the file's description. Thanks!

WeaponizingArchitecture (talk) 04:23, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) Hi WeaponizingArchitecture. If you go to Flags of cities of the United States, click on the "Edit" and then scroll to the very top of the page, you'll see an edit notice that sort of explains why the file was removed. Bascially, non-free files are pretty much never allowed in list articles or gallery of images articles like this per Wikipedia's non-free content use policy (more specifically per WP:NFCC#3, WP:NFCC#8, WP:NFLISTS and WP:NFG). Moreover, while it's true that you did add a link to the article to the non-free use rationale for Southfield, Michigan on the file's page; you actually need to provide a separate specific non-free use rationale for each use of a non-free file per WP:NFCC#10c and WP:NFC#Implementation. However, as mentioned above, there's really no way to provide a valid non-free use rationale and even if you did the file would still almost certainly be removed per WP:JUSTONE. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:25, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
Thank you! WeaponizingArchitecture (talk) 15:27, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Need you to stop the bot

I already reduced the size more than half - it's 343kb now and if it gets any smaller we won't be able to read the already distorted text which is the purpose of the image. Atsme 💬 📧 20:12, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Creation of Draft:Thierry Lataste

Hello JJMC89. I am a member of WikiProject France and I'm interested in creating an article on fr:Thierry Lataste. But I got to know that a draft on the same topic was created and later deleted by you. Can you please let me know the criterion of deletion of the draft (like notability issues, lack of citations, your unwilingness to continue the draft etc.) so that I can create the draft? Thank you. Excellenc1 (talk) 04:55, 26 June 2021 (UTC)

Chuu (singer) and Draft:Kim Ji-Woo

@JJMC89: Hi, I'm Hatto0467. I noticed that you deleted Chuu (singer) article. Chuu and Kim Ji-Woo are the same persons. However, I edit Chuu's draft article to move it to her mainspace now. Would you deleted Draft:Kim Ji-Woo if you are OK because I made Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Kim Ji-Woo? --Hatto0467 (talk) 07:47, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
