AIM Independent Music Awards[edit]
The AIM Independent Music Awards recognises small, independent artists globally, providing recipients with greater opportunities to further expand their careers and name in the music industry. The AIM Independent Music Awards are hosted by the Association of Independent Music (commonly abbreviated to AIM), being a non-profit trade body initiated in March 1999. The AIM provides support and services for individual artists through the AIM Independent Music Awards, "providing a collective voice for UK's independent music industry" and "supporting UK's independent music."[1]

The Association of Independent Music[edit]
The Association of Independent Music is a non-profit organization initiated in March of 1999. The trade body was initiated in order to represent smaller indie artists, bands and labels. The organization provides support, education, publicity and assistance to their members through music awards and festivals, branching into other trade bodies, such as the Association of Independent Festivals, which aims to "represent, empower and provide a vital support network to independent festivals organisers." [2] The Association of Independent Festivals (commonly abbreviated to AIF) - being a division of the AIM - works with the direct aim of aiding independent festivals and labels. The trade body was initially founded in 2008 by DJ Robert John Gorham, more commonly known as Rob da Bank (who is also founder of annual music festival bestival '), and the director of bestival Ben Turner. The body currently represents approximately fifty member events, with examples including:

"AIM unites labels to create a vibrant community, and provides the tools needed to help labels succeed. AIM strives to create a level playing field and fair commercial environment in which independent music companies can grow and achieve success. The AIM Independent Music Awards, hosted by the AIM began in 2011. The non-profit organisation - established through a collection of independent labels - hosted the The AIM Independent Music Awards in 2011, providing service and support to independent/smaller artists and record labels, achieving recognition for their efforts and works. Since, the organisation has expanded immensely, representing approximately eight hundred varying record labels, artists and companies of diverse sorts within the music industry. Since 2016, Paul Pacifico is the AIM's CEO. Pacifico has previously held titles such as the CEO of the Featured Artists' Coalition commonly abbreviated to FAC)[4], and President of the International Artists Organisation (commonly abbreviated to IAO), a professor at Berklee College of Music (Campus in Valencia, Spain) and also owns his own Independent music company.[5]
