Indenting can help improve the readability of a discussion, making it much easier to understand where one editor's comments end and another's begin. Always indent your reply one level deeper than the person you are replying to. The best way to indent is to place a colon (:) at the beginning of a line. The more colons you use, the more indented the text will be.

To create a list, add an asterisk (*) at the start of each point. This goes after any markup (:, *, or #) that was used in the preceding line. It will add a bullet point (•) to each line, like this:
