Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because the Nuns Island theatre is as much a historical building a theatre and no theatre compnay owns it, it is used by the community of Galway. --Cailínréalta (talk) 13:55, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apostrophe[edit]

Is there an apostrophe in the name or not? Eastmain (talkcontribs) 14:28, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The sources appear to vary. While the "administrative" (state body) sources, like the NIAH and RPS entries both use "Nun's Island", the "official" (operating org) webpage uses "Nuns Island". If this is moved to the main article space, personally I would advocate for the version with the apostrophe. That being said, I'm not sure this subject needs a standalone article. The subject (the venue) is one of two buildings used by the Galway Arts Centre organisation. The Galway Arts Centre (the venue, lower-case "c" centre) and the Galway Arts Centre (the org, upper-case "C" Centre) could easily both be covered in the same article. With both Nun's Island Theatre and Nuns Island Theatre as redirects to Galway Arts Centre#Venues or similar. I don't see why the org and its building need separate articles. Any more than a theatre company and its theatre venue would need separate articles. Guliolopez (talk) 12:18, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
